Most patients who breathe through their mouth are recommended the use of a full face mask. These masks help them get the required therapy even while their jaw drops, and their mouth opens. One of the biggest problems is that full facemask wearers struggle quite often with feelings of claustrophobia. This is given the fact that their mask is heavy, bulky and feels quite tight to the skin. AirFit F30 is designed so as to completely eliminate these problems. Patients will no more get claustrophobic feelings because the mask is ultra-light, flexible and provides the perfect seal without causing irritations or red marks on the skin.

What studies show about the AirFit F30 Full Face Mask

During the months of April/ May 2018, ResMed conducted a clinical study on Australian patients. The results showed that approximately 80% of the patients preferred using the AirFit F30 full face mask, for its ease of use, comfort, and therapeutic efficiency.

Then, a Fitting Study conducted by ResMed this year shows that 60%+ of the patients reported that ResMed AirFit F30 had a much better fit and a more comfortable seal when compared to other product within the study which was the Amara View full face mask by Philips Respironics. I’m trying to use the F30 for a back up to my nasal pillows when I can’t breathe through my nose (like with a cold. My normalevents per hour is about 3. With this mask it shot way up to over 20. I have good seal. What am I doing wrong?

I am a first time CPAP user who resisted therapy for years. I have used the F30 mask and headgear with my Resmed Airsense 10 for over a month, and am changing my medium mask for the first time at day 30. I have followed a daily cleaning schedule for my mask and gear. Mask still fits and does seal, but I am starting to notice some leakage issues as the soft seal material ages from use and cleaning. This is not a complaint, I have a full face beard and mustache, and this mask still give me a good seal with multiple easy adjustment points on the headgear. I have used the mask and headgear nightly, and have seen remarkable benefits from CPAP therapy. Looking forward to this mask and headgear rolling out across the marketplace to see the replacement parts and mask costs come down. I am very happy with the mask and product.

The reason for this is usually rainout where moisture has built up in your hose and then is blown into the mask. You need to take your hose off and shake as much water as you can out of it then hang it over your shower curtain to dry. Not drying it out will just continue the moisture cycle. Then I would connect the hose up and lower the heat level of the humidifier so it does not pick up as much moisture. If this does not help I would suggest you consider purchasing a “heated hose’ for your CPAP machine. Both ResMed and Respironincs sell hoses for each machine. This will surely alleviate the problem.

I just started using the F30 size M. Problem is that it Irritates my nose? Like I’ve had a head cold and been blowing/ wiping a runny nose? Tried to adjust the tightness but still wake up with my nose feeling very sore. Any suggestions

    • Charles Goldberg

My guess from what you describe is that you are wearing the mask to tight. ResMed mask are met to be worn where the straps are just holding the mask to the face. When you turn the machine in the CPAP will provide the seal itself. See if loosening the mask helps.

  • Charles Goldberg

Sounds to me like either you do not have the mask adjusted correctly or you have the wrong size mask for you. If fitted correctly the cushion will seal to the face as soon as the CPAP machine is turned on.

  • Charles Goldberg

Not all head sizes are equal and I am afraid that this mask only comes in one headgear size. I am afraid that f it does not work well for you than another mask may be needed I like this mask very much so I feel your pain.
