AirMini CPAP indications of use
So, what does the AirMini look like? As you can see from the Resmed Airmini Photo this is indeed the smallest CPAP in the world. The AirMini by ResMed is a self-adjusting system which is suitable for the treatment of OSA-Obstructive Sleep Apnea. The machine is suitable for both home use and use in a clinical environment. The AirMini system includes the following items and setup packs:
- AirMini machine, power supply unit, carry case + one of the following packs:
- The F20 AirMini setup pack- compatible air tubing, F20 connector or
- The N20 AirMini setup pack: compatible air tubing, the N20 connector, HumidX & HumidX Plus waterless humidification capsules or
- The P10 AirMini setup pack- which includes compatible air tubing the AirFit P10 for AirMini mask, P10 mask cushion, HumidX & HumidX Plus waterless humidification systems, and the AirFit P10 headgear clips. Please keep in mind that the P10 setup pack is the only pack including a mask.
HumidX & HumidX Plus humidifier systems for AirMini
HumidX and HumidX Plus are waterless humidifiers. The HumidX is suitable for humidification in average climate conditions, while the Plus version is suitable for humidification in dry climates (such as in an aircraft cabin). The systems are designed so as to offer higher comfort levels by balancing the moisture content of the air you breathe. The humidifiers also provide relief from dryness complications.
When the ambient humidity levels are very low, the use of the HumidX Plus is highly recommended. For example, HumidX Plus needs to be used in an aircraft or at high altitudes. For all other climate conditions, the HumidX waterless humidification is recommended.
- HumidX and HumidX Plus can be used only with the N20 connector for AirMini and the AirFit P10 for AirMini
- Both HumidX and HumidX Plus must be replaced 30 days after opening the package.
AirMini Comfort features
AirMini features several comfort features that you can use to enjoy a more comfortable and compliant therapy session. For example, Ramp Time allows you to fall asleep upon a gentler pressure. When the time is up, the machine will gradually return to the prescribed pressure levels so that you will receive indicated pressure levels and therapy.
Then, pressure relief is also available on the AirMini. EPR- or Expiratory Pressure Relief is a premium comfort feature which enhances the comfort levels during CPAP therapy. The EPR helps reducing the CPAP pressure upon exhalation on a breath-by-breath basis. Therefore, patients can become quickly therapy compliant and will accept CPAP therapy much quicker thanks to this comfort feature.
SmartStart is yet another comfort feature that will help you become quickly therapy compliant. When SmartStart is enabled, you can actually start your therapy by simply taking a breath and the machine will start delivering required therapy.
AirMini App- keep control of your therapeutic session
The AirMini machine is designed to work with the AirMini App. You can easily and quickly download your application on iTunes or Google Play (IOS and Android smart devices respectively). The AirMini app represents a personal sleep therapy assistant, and it allows you to make changes to the comfort settings or view therapy data with a few clicks.
- Manage everything on your smart device- including Start / Stop of your therapy with the AirMini
- Sleep Tracking feature- receive daily stats regarding AirMini usage hours, events per hour or mask seal. These statistics are all recorded for you to view after you wake up
- Personal dashboard- the most recent therapy session snapshot will be available on your dashboard so that you can easily view all important therapeutic data
- Adjustable comfort settings – Ramp Time, SmartStart, EPR. Please keep in mind that therapy pressure will be set by your medical provider.
- Easily connect to your AirMini machine using Bluetooth technology
AirMini by ResMed has been designed to work as a fully integrated system. All you need to do is select a compatible mask and a setup pack that will match with your AirMini device. Regardless of where you are travelling, your comfortable sleep therapy goes with you.
Here’s how you can setup your AirMini device easily:
AirMini accessories for maximum portability & comfort
ResMed has developed a series of accessories suitable for your machine. The HumidX provides efficient humidification without the hassle of pouring water in a tank. The HumidX capsules capture moisture from the ambient and from your breath and turn it into effective humidification for your therapy. HumidX system provides effective humidification in all environments and climates. Choose HumidX for average climates and HumidX Plus for dry climate conditions such as high altitudes.
The AiMini special Mount System will also help you secure your CPAP to various points such as the bedframe, the walls or the airplane seat pocket. There are many different ways in which you can use the Mount System to secure the CPAP to the most convenient spot in your environment, even to your bedside table.
The AirMini stylish travel bag allows you to pack nicely everything you need for therapy on the go. It is a small and compact bag with practical compartments for the AirMini unit and its accessories. Pack your AirMini travel bag with everything you need to reach out for your required air therapy whenever and wherever you need it.

I have a ResMed S8 Escape II VPAP S with a HumidAire 3i humidifier and Swift LT nasal pillow system. Will the AirMini provide the same therapy?
I plan on traveling to Kenya soon and there is a weight limit for this trip. That’s why I’m looking at travel machines.
Can I use my nasal pillow mask with the AirMini?
Is the battery system available and is it rechargeable?
Will the AirMini work with DC power?
Thanks
Charles Goldberg
Thank you for your question. To give a simple answer it is NO the ResMed AirMini will not provide the same therapy as your VPAP. The ResMed VPAP is a Bi-Level therapy device which means it controls both inhalation and exhalation. A CPAP machine which the AirMini is only controls inhalation. There is a expiration level adjustment of up to 3 CM H20 on the AirMini and your doctor may tell you that you will be fine with the AirMini.
As for mask the AirMini uses one of 4 CPAP mask and one of then is the AirFit P10 nasal pillow system which I believe to be the best nasal pillow mask on the market.
Resmed has not to date released a battery for the AirMini however we suggest you connect a BPS Freedom Battery using an invertor and that will give you a full night of battery power.
Finally the AirMini as are most CPAP machines is a DC unit and works on 24 Volts DC. You can purchase an optional DC cable for it.

I wish you had purchased the AirMini from us as we try to inform our customers of everything prior to purchase. That being said I believe the ResMed AirMini to be one of the best Auto CPAPs every taken to market. I use the AirMini as my everyday machine and I have never slept better.

Charles – thanks.
point 1 – that’s a dam shame. I should ahve done more research
point 2 – there is no explanation as to how points are assinged to achieve the “Mu Air Score” The categories are Useage hours, Adjust Maske Seal, Apnea Events per Hour, Mask on off.
Point 3 – same comment as point 1.
Point 4. – are you refering to the air mini app? I see linited information there.
Thanks.

Peter let me try to address your questions:
1. You cannot download any data from the AirMini.I do agree with you that it an option that is needed but ResMed says they will never do it. That being said you can see 30 days of your data on you phone or tablet if you use the AirMini by Resmed app.
2. I really do not understand your comment. The AirMini is the exact breathing algorithms as the AirSense 10 Autoset.
3. You cannot email support. You need to go through your provider.
4. The AirMini has it’s own site you up load to your phone or table and it provides great information.
5. I use mine as my primary machine and I love it. I would say over 50% of the AirMinis we sell end up being a primary machine.

This is related to AirMini and the AirMini APP
1. Is there a way down load the data so that I can share it with my doctor?
2. The measurement cateories need explanation on the calculation. It is near impossible to find anything on the internet or by phone.
3. There is no way to email support with questions?
4. It would have been nice if the AirMini was intergrated with the ResMed My AIr site to get more information.
5. I bought it as my primary machine.

I’ve just returned from a 3 week trip using the AirMini and the full face mask. Therapy worked well and was similar to the A10 at home, unfortunately without the humidification. Quite pleased, and I was using various plug adapters all the time with no issues with the brick. Things that could be improved… 1) the bluetooth connection often required restarting either the AirMini or my phone. 2) I need humidity and would really like the humidification option for the full mask. 3) The air flow at the mask is LOUD. I had to sleep with earplugs to be able to sleep well… Other than those, I’m happy with the device and it definitely helps my sleep when travelling.

The airMini is a great machine and I actually use it for my everyday machine. The therapy received from the ResMed AirMini and the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet are equivalent with the exception of the humidification. The Autoset provides heated humidification and the AirMini uses a new dry humidification system. If you require a well humidified therapy then the Autoset is the way to go. If you do not need as much humidification I highly suggest the ResMed AirMini.

Hello… I wanna ask, are there no differences between s10 autoset and airmini in fitur? just about the size and weight?
Can we used CPAP Airmini for all the time therapy in home or Airmini only recomended for traveling?
Thank you
Bonita
Will this machine work as a bi pap or CPAP only.
Charles Goldberg
The ResMed AirMini is only a CPAP machine. It does have three (3) operating modes: CPAP, AutoSet and AutoSet for Her. There currently is not a travel size BiPAP on the market.

Please please please make the humidification work with full face masks! I love the portability of the machine but have to think twice about keeping it because my mouth is SO dry in the morning! Any future plans to make this happen?
