The AirMini system includes the following items and setup packs:

HumidX & HumidX Plus humidifier systems for AirMini
HumidX and HumidX Plus are waterless humidifiers. The HumidX is suitable for humidification in average climate conditions, while the Plus version is suitable for humidification in dry climates (such as in an aircraft cabin). The systems are designed so as to offer higher comfort levels by balancing the moisture content of the air you breathe. The humidifiers also provide relief from dryness complications.
When the ambient humidity levels are very low, the use of the HumidX Plus is highly recommended. For example, HumidX Plus needs to be used in an aircraft or at high altitudes. For all other climate conditions, the HumidX waterless humidification is recommended.
- HumidX and HumidX Plus can be used only with the N20 connector for AirMini and the AirFit P10 for AirMini
- Both HumidX and HumidX Plus must be replaced 30 days after opening the package.
AirMini Comfort features
AirMini features several comfort features that you can use to enjoy a more comfortable and compliant therapy session. For example, Ramp Time allows you to fall asleep upon a gentler pressure. When the time is up, the machine will gradually return to the prescribed pressure levels so that you will receive indicated pressure levels and therapy.
Then, pressure relief is also available on the AirMini. EPR- or Expiratory Pressure Relief is a premium comfort feature which enhances the comfort levels during CPAP therapy. The EPR helps reducing the CPAP pressure upon exhalation on a breath-by-breath basis. Therefore, patients can become quickly therapy compliant and will accept CPAP therapy much quicker thanks to this comfort feature.
SmartStart is yet another comfort feature that will help you become quickly therapy compliant. When SmartStart is enabled, you can actually start your therapy by simply taking a breath and the machine will start delivering required therapy.
AirMini App- keep control of your therapeutic session
The AirMini machine is designed to work with the AirMini App. You can easily and quickly download your application on iTunes or Google Play (IOS and Android smart devices respectively). The AirMini app represents a personal sleep therapy assistant, and it allows you to make changes to the comfort settings or view therapy data with a few clicks.
- Manage everything on your smart device- including Start / Stop of your therapy with the AirMini
- Sleep Tracking feature- receive daily stats regarding AirMini usage hours, events per hour or mask seal. These statistics are all recorded for you to view after you wake up
- Personal dashboard- the most recent therapy session snapshot will be available on your dashboard so that you can easily view all important therapeutic data
- Adjustable comfort settings – Ramp Time, SmartStart, EPR. Please keep in mind that therapy pressure will be set by your medical provider.
- Easily connect to your AirMini machine using Bluetooth technology

Recently got my AirMini and I love it..I do have a query though..should I be turning it off at the wall after use in the morning ? Or is it in a standby mode ..after you take it off start smart ….asking for two reasons one is electricity usage and other is for life of machine machine itself is whisper quiet it’s only the exhale bit which makes a noise and you do get used to it ..I now use it as my primary machine…it is a shame that I will no longer be able to get reports on hours slept and what times etc to look back on my sleeping patterns as I used to do on previous machine,

I am always glad to answer any question placed o any board as other people may find the answer useful. My opion is that if you use a high pressure you will be much more comfortable with a home style unite that has heated humidification so you do not fry out during therapy. In that vein I would suggest one of two machine:
1. ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet
2. Philips Respironics DreamStation Auto CPAP
These provide state of the art therapy and has all the modern bells and whistles you and your care giver will find useful. Although not travel size machines these do come with a travel case and can be taken on any airplane without being counted as a carry on.

We are sorry to hear about your need for a CPAP. However, that’s not the end of the world as you will fell so much better once you start to use the machine. Let me try to give yo a quick answer to your questions.
1. The AirMini was never meant for the insurance market. ResMed never submitted for insurance reimbursement. It was to be a cash market item. You are correct that insurance companies pay the same amount for any CPAP machine. Therefore, you have answered your own question. The cost of the AirMini is to high to allow anyone taking insurance to be able to provide it and make a profit. The small machines are a convenience item and as such are within the cash market place only.
2. As for the HumidX not working with a full face mask that is something you will have to address with ResMed directly. It has only been used on nasal pillows and nasal mask. In all fairness the amount of humidity it provides really does not make a significant difference ayway so I would try your CPAP machine without humidity. You might find you do not need this convenience feature at all.

I just had my sleep study done last night and failed miserably. I travel and camp frequently so started doing research on small units and am interested in purchasing the AirMini when I get my scrip. Couple of issues though. I don’t understand the insurance non-reimbursement issue. If they pay the same amount whether you buy a cheap machine or an expensive one, why won’t this one be covered? Second, why won’t the HumidX work with a full face mask? I can’t use the nasal pillow because of my sinuses (6 nose breaks, deviated septum, collapsed passages, etc.)
Jerry Kooyers
Just used new air mini. Sinus irritated and started sneezing after 4 hours. Would covering the intake with a wet rag create enough more humidity to prevent dryness? Any ideas?
Charles Goldberg
I do not recommend as it would allow moisture into the machine which could ruin the mother board. You should be sure to try both the dry humidification units as one may be more helpful to you than the other.
Charles Goldberg
Some people require significant humidification when they are using A CPAP machine. Usually it is those who have a high pressure. The higher the pressure the more the blower blows contributing to your dry throat. There really is not much you can do as the ResMed AirMini just may not be for you. That being said you are in a very small population of people who are not able to handle CPAP therapy with this machine.

Hi Charles, good morning. What CPAP machine would you recommend if one needs a high pressure?
Although this is the Armini board excuse me for asking about the Philips Respironics DreamStation Auto CPAP: is it easy to travel with? Thanks for your help.

I bought the Airmini a few months ago for traveling and camping. I have the battery. for the first 1.5-2 hours of use it’s heaven. After that however, my nose and throat become so dry that I jump up in pain. even after drinking something I can’t use it and go the rest of the night without. I use the HumidX plus and still have the same issue. It’s exactly the same whether I’m using the Humidx, humidx plus or no humidification. Help! and thanks!
Charles Goldberg
Yes that is normal. its because of the small high intensity blower.
Daniel K Reed
I just used for first time with f20 mask. Only question is the mask is loud compared to home machine is this normal?
Roger
I’m a bit confused about the humidx and humidxplus. Is there a full face mask available that is compatible with the humidx system? I really need humidity but also require a full mask. Thanks.
Charles Goldberg
You cannot use the Hunidx system on the AirMini when using a full face mask. It is only compatible with the nasal mask and nasal pillow mask.
