You are correct however in very small non toxic amounts. Significantly more is in the air every time there is a thunderstorm. I would be more concerned about the bacteria growing in your hose from your humidifier tot he mask. That’s something to worry about.

Ozone is a corrosive gas which can cause headaches and nausea. It can also cause damage to the lungs.
Isn’t ozone escaping into the ambient surroundings from the zippered bag?

That’s the easiest question I have been asked today. The VirtuCLEAN is much easier to use and maintain. The VirtuCLEAN does not require you to change a charcoal filter like the So Clean does. With the VirtuCLEAN the only thing you need to remember to do is charge it.

Lets be clear concerning the charcoal filters used in the SoClean. Also, please understand that we sell both the SoClean and the VirtuCLEAN. The Charcoal filter that you must purchase every 6 months for the SoClean has NOTHING to do with the production of ozone. The filter is used to absorb the ozone smell after the SoClean has completed it’s cleaning cycle. The VirtuCLEAN accomplishes this by blowing pure air through the system for 5 minutes at the end of the cleaning cycle. Same thing is accomplished at a cost of ZERO dollars versus $30.00 for the SoClean filter.

Is there any way to blow pure air through the system for more than 5 mins or to repeat that process. My parents just purchased the VirtuCLEAN and have are both complaining that the OZONE Gas has irritated their throats/sinuses. My Dad has COPD and gets Pneumonia easily and has had to go to the Dr since beginning using it. They have called the place they purchased it from to see if it can be returned and are waiting for a response.

The VirtuCLEAN will not blow pure room air for more than 5 minutes however, I would suggest you connect your CPAP up and let it run for a few minutes to blow any remaining smell from your equipment.
All health conditions should be considered when using any medical device as to how it will effect such condition. Your doctor is the best place for that information.

Can you tell me how this unit produces the ozone that is needed to clean the equipment every time. I am confused how the other product on the market, So Clean 2, requires you to purchase replacement Ozone filter/cartridges. I understand this as it only stands to reason when you use something you deplete it. How does your unit not get depleted of the ozone and does the effectiveness of the unit go down with time and use? I am an HME dealer and looking to put something on the shelf for my patients, but I can’t wrap my head around this one and could use some explanation. Thank you,

After using cpap machine with humidifier every night there are water droplets in the tubing every morning. Tubing is wet inside. Water chamber has to be dry but does tubing have to be dry before using virtuclean ?

Your tubing should always be dry. If you have water in the tubing you most likely have the humidifier turned up to high. Try lowering the heat setting and see if that solves the problem. You must dry out your hose regardless of using the VirtuCLEAN or not or you will never get rid of the water in it. Shake as much of the water as you can out of the hose then hang it over your shower curtain for the day. It should all be dry by the evening.

Great question. You are correct in your description of the workings of the VirtuCLEAN. As for where does the air go when the VirtuCLEAN is connected to the CPAP machine. Since it is a gas it just dissapates.
